Care

Care for the months around a birth

Four kinds of visit, each on its own page. All of them begin with a conversation and a short exam, and none of them replaces your birth team.

  • Prenatal visits

Hands-on care and movement guidance while you are pregnant, with pillows and positions that fit a changing body.

    Prenatal visits
  • Newborn and infant visits

Short, light-touch visits for babies, with a parent in the room the whole time.

    Newborn and infant visits
  • After the birth

Care for the months of carrying, feeding and little sleep, planned around your baby.

    After the birth
  • Movement guidance

Ways to sit, sleep, lift and carry, shown in person and written down to keep.

Every visit

What stays the same

  • Dr. Lofton explains first

She tells you what she will do before she does it, and you can stop at any point.

  • Your birth team stays in charge

Questions about the pregnancy or your baby's health go back to your OB, midwife or pediatrician.

  • No promised results

We say what we do. We do not promise outcomes, and results vary.

What we do and do not claim

Not sure which visit?

Tell us where you are, pregnant or with a new baby, and we will point you to the right one.

  • A sudden severe headache or neck pain, dizziness, trouble speaking or seeing, new weakness or numbness, numbness in the groin or saddle area (between the legs and buttocks), or new bladder or bowel trouble needs emergency care now. Call 911 or go to an emergency room.
