Dr. Denise Lofton

Chiropractor (DC) and owner

Chiropractic care for expecting parents and new families, in one quiet room.

Dr. Lofton opened Thrum to make room for visits that are not rushed. She sees every patient herself, explains each step before it happens and stops whenever you ask. She writes to your OB, midwife or pediatrician only when you say so, and she sends you back to them for anything that is theirs to answer.

What a visit with her includes

  • A conversation about how you are doing
  • A short, careful exam
  • Light adjusting with pillow and side-lying support, if she recommends it
  • Movement guidance for sitting, sleeping and carrying
  • Doctor of Chiropractic · VA License no. 000000

The practice

A small practice, on purpose

Thrum has one chiropractor and one front-desk coordinator. You see the same two people every time, and the schedule leaves room for a visit to run long. The front desk can answer questions about forms, fees and the birth-team list.

What we hold to

Four promises, none of them about results

  • We explain before we act

Dr. Lofton says what she will do and why, and you decide.

  • We ask before we share

Nothing goes to your OB, midwife or pediatrician without your okay.

  • We say what we do not claim

Our claims page is short on purpose.

What we do and do not claim
  • We send you back when it is theirs

A question about your pregnancy or your baby's health belongs to your care team.
